Global Climate Change:

How much can we rely on the natural world to fix our problem?

Join Dr. Ben Houlton director of the John Muir Institute of the Environment at UC Davis and learn about the current state of carbon sinks, their vulnerability to future changes, and how global climate policies are susceptible to the sustainability of natural carbon dioxide uptake.

Humans produce carbon pollution. It's no secret. When we drive our cars, heat and light our homes, grow our food, we emit CO2. All around the world, habitats called carbon sinks have absorbed approximately 25% of this carbon pollution reducing the risk of global warming impacts without imposing a monetary cost on society.

A no-host happy hour at 5:30 and public presentation at 6 p.m. at the UC Davis Tahoe Center for Environmental Sciences in Incline Village, NV.
